About Units Converter

Units Converter is a set of free calculators and unit converters for everyday questions, each with the method written out next to it.

What the site is for

Most everyday calculations are simple once you know the rule: how many milliliters are in a cup, what 30% off and then another 10% off really comes to, how many working days are left in a month. The trouble is remembering the rule, and knowing which version applies where you live. Each tool here gives the answer and, underneath, the formula, worked examples, the usual mistakes and the definitions it relies on.

Who we are

The site is published by LETAYER LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, USA, and written by the Units Converter Editorial Team. The team plans the tools, writes and checks the explanations and maintains the code. We are not affiliated with any standards body or government agency we cite.

How the tools are built

  • Calculations live in small code modules with automated tests against reference values, such as the exact definitions of the inch, pound and gallon.
  • The tables printed on each page are generated by the same code the calculator uses, so they cannot drift apart.
  • Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us.

The details are on How we calculate; how pages are written and corrected is in our editorial policy.

How the site is funded

The tools are free and supported by advertising served by Google. Ads are kept apart from calculators, buttons and navigation and are labeled. Advertisers have no say in what we write.
